Tom fled a broken home in an abandoned steel town at the Pennsylvania/West Virginia border, kicked around Europe for a year with no money, wrote, directed and acted in NYC theaters, drove across the U.S. to the great Pacific Northwest to work, and down the coast to L.A., where he hangs his hat. As both screenwriter and songwriter, he writes on the run about going home and the profound heartache of never running fast enough to find it.

Among his deepest material, he writes from personal experience with the collateral damage of addiction, the particular grief of watching someone you love disappear into a world you can't follow them into.

A former grunge musician and songwriter, he spent the '90s in bands before becoming a filmmaker, collaborating on over a hundred low- and no-budget films as writer, director, composer, editor and actor. The music in his films is his own.

His feature screenplay I Nearly Lost You received ISA Top Reads Spring 2026 and script requests from top production companies and talent including two Oscar-winning producers. A woman director with seven features and multiple Cannes credits read the script unsolicited and expressed strong interest in directing.
 

He's written, directed, acted, edited and penned songs for films screened at Sundance, DGA, Laemmle Theaters, Regal/LA Live, Mann's Chinese, Beverly Hills Fine Arts, AFI Mark Goodson, USC Norris and the Downtown Independent.
